About our tests
The first Password test launched in 2008 and since then hundreds of education institutions and employers have formed partnerships with us to use our online testing services to enhance or replace their own internal testing.
Using Password testing enables our partners to deliver tests designed by world leading experts in testing and assessment under their own control and brand. We offer online tests in both English and Maths.

Quality control and reliability

All Password tests are subject to a rigorous test design, development and validation process, ensuring that our tests provide accurate, reliable and consistent results.

All Password English tests are designed by the world leading experts in testing and assessment at CRELLA. Password English tests are aligned to the CEFR and an experienced team of item writers keep the tests refreshed under the guidance of CRELLA. Test item development undergoes a rigorous process consisting of question commissioning, item review, item piloting, second review and finally acceptance/rejection into our test item bank.

The Password Maths test was developed by a group of senior maths teachers from a consortium of leading UK independent schools following demand from institutions already using our English tests and enjoys the same academic validity and usability as our English tests.

All Password tests have proven to have extremely high levels of accuracy.
